Now I know; Why I persist ...

Intense images
In carved stones
They just sailed away
To a shore so distant
And time departed
In caves unknown

Must that it is tired
For that ship to be lost
Ghost of that wreckage
Ten lines, pure and pristine
They prayed and pounded
So heard and hearty

Tea of unknowns
They are hot and cold
Bare and boring
Spotted dreams
They are my spokes of past
And shall not persist

So long a coil
Counter to my eyes
Whispered a love
Kiss so lenient
And dark so imminent
All of them mated

Brought a heaven
Half nether to the heart
And all horrors stood fast
Now I know
Why I persist
In Times of Zest
